Working as part of MTC’s corporate team is great, there are so many opportunities to get involved in what’s going on, and everyone is more than willing to support each other.
The estates, health and safety team ensure the safety of all our employees whilst managing the fire and facilities on site. The HSE team ensure compliance and standards are maintained whilst promoting health and safety in all we do.
Our business process office (BPO) team provides essential business administration and co-ordination support to the organisation to enable our business leaders to focus on the difference we can make to individuals who use our services. This includes facilitating key processes such as accounts payable, recruitment, vetting and on-boarding, operations, supply chain and procurement, and health and safety.
There is a fantastic collaborative working environment that allows me to learn and grow constantly with the wide variety of work.
The detail and scheduling team are responsible for creating and reconciling timesheets, and maintaining our staffing targets. The team is also assist with booking annual leave, training, overtime and shift swaps.
The finance and commercial team are responsible for ensuring the businesses contractual, legal and insurance obligations are in order. The team oversees our procurement processes and corporate social responsibility. The finance team provide an appropriate control environment to safeguard the companies’ assets, cashflow management and timely payments of suppliers as well as insights and analytics and timely and accurate financial reporting.
Our audit and assurance team ensure, through their processes and practices, that we are upholding the strictest of professional standards and acting with honesty and integrity in everything we do. They pull together action plans to address any issues through regular auditing and this can also inform training requirements for employees. They also make sure we are on track with delivering against our key performance indicators (KPIs) and continue to improve in the work we do.

Our digital team ensure that our ICT applications and data are secure, and that our business is supported with high-quality, effective toolsets. They are responsible for the day-to-day support and forward-looking strategy for our digital enablers.
Our bid team are central to our continued growth, and our bid solutions and custodial managers take on a lead role in the development of our operational solutions for all our future contracts within the custody and detention sector. Their aim is to not only meet the requirements of the bid process, but to create deliverable, innovative solutions, ensuring best practice from across the criminal justice sector is reflected in our processes and operating procedures. Our bid team anticipate risks and devise appropriate mitigation strategies and promote and enable both internal and external partnership working in everything we aim to deliver.
The HR team are ensure our employees receive a quality employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle with MTC. The team provide expert HR advice, business partnering expertise and excellent customer service to all employees and people managers.
The communications team is responsible for all internal and external communications with employees, partners and stakeholders.
I look after all the HR on site at Manston including employee relations, wellbeing and absence. At MTC no matter who you are, your voice is listened to. On one of my first days, I had an induction call with the MD which I found very personable. The senior leaders are accessible to all employees and I think that’s really important.
The mobilisation and transformation team is responsible for delivering projects and programmes at MTC. This includes planning and costing mobilisations, managing mobilisations of sites and activities and delivering continuous improvement projects.
