Benefits

While our people make a difference to our service users, we are committed to making a difference to our people’s lives – inside and outside of work.

We offer a wide range of benefits that everyone can make the most of when they join us.

Holiday

We offer at least 25 days holiday per year.

Pension

We will automatically enrol you into our workplace pension scheme three months after your start date. The plan is offered by Royal London, and matches your contributions up to 6% in the first year, increasing by 1% each year to a maximum of 10%. You’ll also have the option to contribute towards a salary sacrifice pension scheme, which is an agreement to a reduction in your salary in exchange for an equivalent additional employer pension contribution. This is also known as 'SMART Pensions' and allows you to benefit from savings on your National Insurance contributions.

Life assurance

As long as you are part of MTC, you and your family will have the peace of mind that comes from good life assurance cover – and ours offers four times your salary. Cover is subject to scheme rules and underlying policies, and we reserve the right to amend this offer from time to time.

Cycle scheme

Cyclescheme saves you 25 to 39% on a bike and accessories. You pay nothing upfront and the payments are taken from your salary in a tax efficient way.

The way it works is simple. You choose a bike, hire it for an agreed length of time, and then snap it up for a fraction of its original value. It's like a year-round sale, with interest free credit available in over 2,000 retailers nationwide.

Electric vehicle scheme

MTC offer an electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme with both new, and nearly new vehicle options.

Employee assistance

We have partnered with Health Assured, an independent provider of confidential support and professional counselling services. The programme offers confidential support services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to help you and your immediate family deal with a range of personal matters including:

  • Family issues
  • Financial
  • Legal
  • Family matters

  • Insurance claims
  • Childcare
  • Drug and alcohol problems
  • Consumer issues

  • Gambling
  • Debt
  • Housing
Season ticket loans

You can take advantage of a season ticket loan that will enable you to buy your season ticket and repay it from your salary in equal monthly instalments.

Refer a friend

Sometimes, the best people to help us find new talent are the people who already work here at MTC. So, we will reward you with up to £500 if you introduce us to someone who eventually joins us and then passes their probation. And there is no limit to how many people you can recommend, too.

Years of service

Our Years of Service Award recognises service and dedication to MTC after 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years.

MTC employee recognition scheme

Our monthly unlocking potential awards programme recognises employees who demonstrate our values.

Our annual employee awards recognise those who stand out and make a significant contribution to us achieving our organisational goals, and driving operational excellence.

Wherever you work at MTC, you can nominate one of your colleagues for an award. Awards are presented at an annual awards ceremony.

Enhanced maternity, paternity and occupational sick pay
